My First Experience With Fondant

So, here ya go...my first fondant covered cake. Not too shabby, huh? It's a pretty long process but I think the outcome is worth it for a special occasion. What's the special occasion today? Well...it just happens to be Carrie Helton's birthday. So even though I can't be there to make this for you in person...here is your birthday cake from New York. Happy Birthday Carrie!

Very nice! When I saw your status earlier said you were working with fondant today I got excited because I knew that meant another cake picture was coming! I miss you, friend!!!

Your first one? I think you must secretly be a professional already. Wow!

so is it really really hard? the cake freak that taught my class said it was harder than brain surgery because every cake is different and every brain is the same. no really.

it is not so much hard, but time consuming and tedious. Meg, you need a new teacher.

Marie, the cake is BEAUTIFUL! I'm very impressed. It's like a smaller version of a Charm City Cakes cake. This is the final straw - I MUST take these classes, as well. Hopefully Santa will help me out with this... :)

Okay, I am hiring you for Grace's birthday cake :) You are doing an AMAZING job! I feel so lazy when I see all your cakes and your going to school! Can't wait to see you when you come home for Christmas!

Marie, this is amazing!

I'll be expecting mine in April. Or maybe February when I see you.

On second thought, maybe you should just make one big one for Mee-Maw Christmas. ;)
