What do you think?
My pastor, Luke Camara, brings up some interesting and controversial topics. I'm not too good at the whole blog thing so I thought I would borrow from him. He brought up the topic of drinking on his blog this week. I have a little bit different audience than he does so I was just wondering what you thought? I think this is so much bigger then I ever thought it would be!
Who knew we had so many people who wanted to drink?!
I have many, many thoughts about the issue, but I'll spare you... mostly.
The main thing I'd really like to say is that, after 26 years of being a Baptist, I'm tired of thinking and talking about this. Because, ultimately, I think this is so far down what our list of priorities should be, that I think it's a waste of time and energy to talk about it as much as we do.
What did Jesus say really mattered? Loving God and loving people. And until we do a better job of getting that right, I feel like we should worry a heck of a lot less about who is or isn't enjoying a alcoholic beverage... among other things.
