It's About Time...

Well, I think it is about time for an update on the life of Marie. Work is really crazy right now so the last thing I want to do when I come home is think about what to blog about. Last week I had the opportunity to make African food for Vestavia Alliance Church. They are going on a mission trip to Ecuador so they had a "Taste of the Nations" fundraiser. They had food from about 10 different countries. It was a lot of fun tasting everything. Most people were afraid to try mine. The people who did try it liked it though. I even had a couple of people who took a to go box of it. The sad thing was that I had enough left to feed a small village. It is times like this that I feel guilty about how much we have in America. Thanks to Susan and Nanny for helping me prepare the mafie. Susan helped me cut up the meat the night before and Nanny came with some big pots and helped chop the veggies. My cousin Heather came to visit and she had an idea of what the Mafie looked like but I will let you decide for yourself.

Susan and I decided we would suck at being African women.

As always we can have a good time doing anything...even cutting meat.

Mmm Mmm Good!

I think I had a kid from the Parent's Day Out program leave behind some "mafie" in the floor of one of the bathrooms the other day! Looks "interesting!"

Marie,
YOU Go Girl!!! That's awesome! For all you people who think that looks horribly disgusting... picture that last picture floating in about a gallon of oil.....yum, yum.... that is what it looks like here. Aren't you glad she made it look that good.
