Today's Happy Package from Prague

I got to Prague safe and sound yesterday morning around 8:00. For a synopsis of yesterday's adventures go to Susan's blog. Today did not seem as cold as yesterday but I think it was because I got smart and put on more layers. We started out at the Jewish quarter. It was very interesting. It is where the Ghetto was when Hitler took over. Part of the old wall is still standing. It was very moving to see the cemetery. When they ran out of room they just put more dirt on top and started again. There was also a room that was full of children's drawings from that time. It showed how thier parents tried to shield them from the harsh realities of life with art. The Jewish quarter was probobly my favorite thing so far.

After the Jewish quarter we went in search for Euro dog for lunch. They are sold at little stands on the side of the street. It is a hot dog in a French bagette. It was pretty good and really cheap. Next, we went to the Castle. It was a very enjoyable experience after we got up there. The public transportation can only take you so far. You have to climb a bunch of steps. They do have some nice little booths set up to try and distract you from the fact that you are out of breath and your legs feel like jello. We visited the Toy museum of Prague. We deliberated for a few minutes but then found out that it only cost about $3 to get in. Let me tell you, it was well worth the $3 dollars. The best part was the Barbie Exibition. Did you know that Barbie was originally Lilli, a drawing from a German magazine. After they started making the dolls in Germany Matel decided to buy the rights to the doll. They then changed the name to Barbie after sombody's daughter. Ok, all of that to say that they had a lot Barbies, including the cast of 90210, Christy Yamaguchi, Nancy Kerrigan, Tonya Harding, The Spice Girls, Elivis, Frank Sinatra, etc. Susan and I had lots of fun figuring out who they were. Susan has a special picture on her blog of our two favorite characters that were made into dolls.

After the Castle we were pretty tired so we headed back the IBTS(International Baptist Theological Seminary). The roles are reversed today. I am posting on my blog and Susan is taking a nap. She is working really hard being my personal tour guide. It started snowing on the way back. I am hoping that it snows enough to play in the snow tomorrow!
